ADI Potrero is proud to host events that bring our community together—from clean-up days and cultural celebrations to seasonal festivals and local initiatives.
But the spirit of Potrero doesn’t stop there. Our town is alive with events organized by local residents, businesses, and partner organizations. From live music and beach gatherings to art shows and business mixers, there’s always something happening.

Limpieza de Playa
Participate in a community effort to clean up Playa Penca and Playa Prieta. Help us keep our beaches beautiful and safe for everyone. Organized by ADI Potrero and ASADA de Playa Potrero, this event highlights the importance of caring for our shared natural spaces.

Join the community in a beach cleanup at Playa Potrero organized by Comité BAE Playa Potrero. Meeting points include Restaurante Las Brisas, Hotel Bahía del Sol, and Marina Flamingo. Let’s work together to preserve the natural beauty of our beaches.
Fiesta Populares de Potrero
Traditionally fiestas are not only the big cultural event of the town, they importantly act as the main fundraiser of the host town through their respective ADI. However, at this time Potrero does not have the communal land to throw the fiestas. Therefore, the fiestas are being held on private land. The ADIP is co-hosting the event by heading the crowning of the queen ceremony and lead up as a small fundraiser attached to the fiestas.
This Guanacaste Fiesta tradition of crowning a queen pools nominees from the town in a competition to raise the most money. Each princess has until the start of the fiestas to collect the most funds for Potrero, and the contestant collecting the most will be crowned queen of Potrero.
Cheerlead your town princesses with $$$ and your contributions will go to community funds and future projects. Donations can be made to the princess’s parents or directly to ADI Potrero with the princess’s name listed in the memo.

Just like previous years, watch the town parade into town, dance to the music, enjoy local food for sale as we all gather for the lighting of the town tree. Then join as the children meet Santa for some presents and we all gather under the beach sky with the lit boats for a show of fireworks.
A dance will follow in the Salon Comunal, so bring your dancing shoes…or just kick them off.
